The Marble Operator Archives

Marble Operator is a podcast I began in mid-2011 as a result of wanting to hear discussion of the YouTube series “Marble Hornets” in podcast form, but failing to find anything beyond a few episodes of an already-ended podcast called “Slender Nation”.

The show was hosted on the website TalkShoe, a site that allowed for conference calls that were broadcast live. Of late, the Marble Operator archive there has been killed, but luckily I managed to have not deleted my own personal archives of the show. I’m currently in the process of migrating the archives over to the Internet Archive. Here I’ll collect the links to the episodes.

The 58th episode of my sound collage series has been made and posted, although it isn’t really the 58th episode, that’s just a lie, as I start and never finish a lot of sound collages all the time; I make short segments, small collections of loops and layers and sounds and thoughts and ideas and everything, creations that never make it out of my computer except in my mind.

Loops include:

Cheap Trick – Say Goodbye
Various Nintendo eShop music
Miranda July — Lena Bearmish Binet-Simon Test
Cultdom Collective intro
Original CIA Intro
Original Friday Night Trivia Intro
2013 Friday Night Trivia Intro
Random Rab – Apparently [the predominant paint on the canvas this episode]

Radio Free Caemlyn: Doctor Who Books

Direct mp3 Download

On this episode, I discuss two Doctor Who books I just obtained. The first is one that I used to check out from my University’s library system, a book by R.H. Langley called “The Doctor Who Error Finder”. This book looks through the original run of Doctor Who through to the 1996 Fox/BBC movie and collects all the filming and scripting errors. It’s a fun read if you have the episodes to hand.

The second book is “Running Through Corridors: Volume One by Robert Shearman and Toby Hadoke. In this book, the two authors watched through every episode of Doctor Who from “An Unearthly Child” onward and comment on what they like about each episode. Fun read so far.

Super Awesome Fun Time With Rand 56: Through Tears

It’s my 56th sound collage, and my first for 2017. Please enjoy.

The Cultdom Collective Commentary hiatus is nearly over, with production set to resume a week from today. Rand has a week to complete his commentaries on the 2016 X Files miniseries. Or maybe there’s no real deadline.

Super Awesome Fun Time With Rand 53: Collage Hassle

For this collage, I gave myself a simple challenge: using only a single song, make an hour-long collage. I chose Lou Reed’s “Street Hassle”, which I’ve heard collaged on KLERE before.

Truth be told, I got half an hour into it, maybe 40 minutes into it, and was bored and wanted to be done with it.

Should only have been half an hour.

Was still fun to make, though.

RFC Commentaries: My X-Files Struggle

With Cultdom Commentaries seemingly a thing of the past, I decided to go it alone and record a commentary on something. I’ve decided to focus on the 10th season, the 2016 miniseries, of The X-Files.

So, here’s my commentary on the first episode, “My Struggle”, in which I take on Ian and Dave’s roles along with my own. For anyone who wanted to hear just me talk over an episode of something, here’s your chance.

If you’d like to join me on a future commentary, either leave a comment here, email me at radiofreecaemlyn at gmail, or comment on Twitter at radiofrecaemlyn.
